Infraction for a stop

Did Jessica do her stop or not… it is not clear in this story… however, the cop gave her an infraction for a stop… here is her story… which was even being filmed!
******

Hello, I, on March 27 at 9h06 am, was arrested by a police officer that told me that I didn’t stop my vehicle enough and filmed the infraction, but I believe that I am not guilty ! I saw the video and I put on the breaks for 2 sec looking at my right and my left, and then slowed down while my car was still going forward in order to make sure that nobody was there, or getting across the street ! I put on my flasher and looked again on the sides of the road! My father in law was there that morning, when I got arrested and we both asked ourselves why !

When the police officer talked to me he said, madam, I can show you the video if you want. I looked at it and I confirmed what I said. Furthermore, there is an audio recording where the police officer clearly says that I didn’t do anything dangerous! So if this wasn’t dangerous (not dangerous equals safe) why did I get this ticket ? My father in law also heard the police officer say that I didn’t do anything dangerous ! My father in law said that I was driving since he broke a bone in his back and to leave me a chance if I didn’t do anything dangerous ! Do you believe I got a chance of winning or even just pay my ticket and save my points ? I never got arrested and I will get my real license in May of 2009 (with the allowed 15 points). This was the first time I was arrested! I passed my license at the first attempted as my temporary license. I never got any accidents. I believe I could have been more alert !

Thank you for your great website ! Have a good day !

Jessica!

What I think :

Dear Jessica… you saw the video… you know if yes or no the stop was done ! You cannot really contest an infraction that was caught on film if we see the infraction on the tape! Do we see on the tape that the car didn’t stop ? Or a nice and well done stop ? And that after you slowly drove up in order to make sure it was safe, since the visibility wasn’t very good from where you stopped.

If that is the case, then you will probably be able to win your case easily by contesting… But, if we see your car coming towards the crossroad and never completely stop, for 2 seconds… you don’t stand a chance… pay !
