Ticket for having stop pass the white line

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

This story is from Andrée, and it is a bit special…. A police officer gives her a ticket for having stop pass the white line… she wants to dispute it

Ticket for having stop pass the white line Hello, my name is Andrée, and I got a ticket this morning. Let me briefly explain you:

I’m at a stop and the police officer is at the other stop. I wave at him to let him pass, but he waves back to say that I could turn. As I turned, the officer pulled me over said that my tires off ahead of the white stopping line. Can you tell me if this is power abuse? Is this ticket justified?

The officer gave me a ticket of 154$ and 3 demerit points. I would like to dispute this ticket because I really think this ticket is inappropriate.

I would rather give the 154$ to a lawyer to settle this cause than to give them reason.
If you are interested by this problem please leave me a message I will be pleased to contact you. The infringement took place on the boul. Provencher in Montreal on May 29th, 2008.

Infringement for a stop

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

A so called Mr C. have inadvertently passed a stop sign without stopping… A police officer chased him and gave him a ticket for the stop… here his quite particular story…

Infringement for a stopHello,

My story is real simple: I “apparently” would have omitted to stop at a stop sign. I was so much sounded that the police stopped me, that I did not realize what he was talking about and especially the location where it had arrived… It is only once I got back home that I tried to understand my ticket and I understood what had happened 2 streets before the cop stopped me. (Chabanel street between St-Laurent and some streets in the west)

The police officer was alone, no witnesses and information on the ticket indicates that I rolled to 30 km/h… at the time of my fault… What is rather strange. I want to say, one does not burn a fire or a stop to 30 km???

Frankly, I do not remember if I stopped or not. I take this boulevard so often that I have a hard time believing I was faulty.

Thank you!

Well you wouldn’t stand a chance in front of a judge… because if you do not know… the police officer, him, knows what happened…

In front of a judge, you must know what happened. If not, how can you contradict the police officer?

Ticket for a Stop

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Here is the little story of Francois, who received a ticket for a stop that he supposedly would not have made…

Ticket for a StopHello! In fact I did not stop at the stop sign because I absolutely did not see it (a moving van hid it). Therefore, when I saw it and I stopped, I was easily at 2 m of the stop line! Thus, I am persuaded that some elements in your cause could help me to establish a good defense and explain my story well. I am from Quebec area and I got on your site by hitting “How dispute stop ticket” on Google! Thank you!

Indeed, you seem to have the benefit of the doubt in your story… There could however be various elements on which the Crown attorney is likely to question you…

For example, do you live close to the place where the infringement took place? Or is it about an intersection close to your work which you attend daily?
Because in these cases, you are supposed to know that there is a stop sign, the prosecutor will say…

Even if you always have the benefit of the doubt, the judge must settle… because do not forget that one should never engage in an intersection if that is not safe to do so.

However, I believe that the fact that you were able to stop within two meters will help you by showing your prudence…

Let wait and see what the judge will decide…
